Isobaric Maps for Australia and NZ
MONDAY JULY 16, 2012
These maps are estimated one month ahead, based on moon cycles. They should be correct in trends to within a day and have often been assessed as over 90% accurate.
The use of them is to plan well ahead for high and low pressure systems arriving, and for stronger winds depicted by closer isobaric lines.
You can see, for example for NZ, when the deep southerly systems each month during winter should arrive. Each document covers the whole month, from 1st-30th/31st.
